London: For the second consecutive year, Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim topped the list of the richest people in the world in 2011 according to Forbes magazine released this week. The founder of the Mexican Telecoms surpass Bill Gates with a fortune of 74 billion U.S. dollars.
Bill Gates, Microsoft founder who donated a third of his fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, came in second place with a fortune of 56 billion dollars.
“He (Gates) would easily outperform other competitors, if only he was not a philanthropist. It would be an easy competition for him,” said Director of Wealth-X David Lincoln is compiling a list of the richest people in this world.
Meanwhile, the “teacher” investment company Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet, entrenched in third place with a fortune of 50 billion dollars. Followed later by Bernard Arnauld (brand owner Louis Vuiton) from France with a fortune of 41 billion dollars and Larry Ellison (USA) who collected 39.5 billion dollars from his company Oracle.
This year, China beat Russia with 115 miliarder that have only 101 millionaires. The number of British milarder increased to 32 people this year. Indian steel millionaire Lakshmi Mittal (31 billion) that fester in sixth place in this global list is one of them.
There are six “billionaires facebook” in the list of the richest people in the world this year. Among the founders of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz’s youngest billionaire is 26 years old, and entrepreneur Sean Parker Napster. In total there is 1210 billionaires in the world with a total net worth of 4.5 trillion dollars.
